MY FIRST SHOOT
A very exciting day for me at my first Turning Heads photo shoot. Got to witness the magic that Stacy, Debbie and Olga create for the supermodels.
Having seen the videos on the website I knew the supermodels had a day full of joy and fun which they would treasure going forward.
Being a part of it was pure joy for me.
Geoff was Turning Heads second male “supermodel”. He had called the day he read the story in The Desert Sun and ironically the day he shaved his head from the hair loss from his chemo treatments. Geoff explained that loosing your hair because of chemo was as difficult for a man as a woman. I truly didn’t get that until I heard it first hand. Just figured guys didn’t care that much –not a big deal.
Wrong !! It’s not a vanity thing…it’s the significance and reality that you really are a cancer patient like the others you see at your chemo sessions and at oncologist visits.
What I saw in 2 hours with Geoff and his wife, Autumn of 32 years who seem like newlyweds was a transformation. There was fun, joy, laughter and a great camaraderie among us.
Jeff laughed and totally got into the session posing with his collection of stuffed penguins and having a wonderful time with Autumn, having their pictures taken like they were honeymooners.
I left knowing I had seen pure magic happen and that has stuck with me for days.
